Inspired by a family of educators, this award-winning entrepreneur, speaker, author, and coach makes learning fun. Her innovative ideas and unconventional tactics help students, educators, professionals and community leaders achieve success. She delivers actionable information that empowers audiences to reach goals, improve performance, and resolve problems.

Tara’s experience as a marketing executive and writer sparked the creation of the DOWNlo MARKETING Series for entrepreneurs and the GET IT WRITE Series for aspiring authors. She shares her passionate interest in history and community involvement through topics like Ipods, Icons & Politics, and Women’s History, Can’t Live Without It.

After earning an MBA in Marketing at The Ohio State University, and becoming a Walter Kaitz Fellow Tara managed targeted consumer promotions for brands like Sony, Kodak, Calvin Klein, HBO, Soft Sheen and McDonalds (including Little Known Black History Facts.) She was recruited by TCI, the largest cable television operator in the country before entering the world of advertising where she worked for the Kimball Group and Burrell Communications in Chicago, Illinois.

By 2002 Tara had launched Coyt Communications and moved the business to Atlanta, GA. In 2004 the Atlanta Business League honored the entrepreneur with an outstanding business achievement award. In 2005 she founded The GET IT WRITE Author’s Circle, and became known as The Write Author Coach.

Tara’s articles and columns have appeared online and in business and lifestyle magazines including Atlanta Magazine, Catalyst and Rolling Out. She is the editor of Event City magazine, the author of DOWNlo MARKETING: Uncover Your Business, Discover More Profits and two pending publications: Write, Publish & Sell a Marketable Book and God is My Consultant.

A resident of Atlanta, GA, Tara currently serves on boards for the Atlanta Technical College, and The Atlanta Writers Club. In her home town of Cleveland, Ohio, Tara was a founding member of the Institute for African American Studies, a mentor for high school and college students and an organizer for a women’s conference at Cleveland State University. She has also participated in the Prodigy Project, the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta, The Atlanta Business League, The Public Square (Chicago), National Coalition of 100 Black Women (Chicago), the National Coalition of 100 Black Men (Chicago), the Black MBA Association, the National Association of Black Journalists and the National Association of Minorities in Communications.
