From the time I started college I knew I wanted to become a corporate recruiter.  But, when I landed my first job at a rapidly expanding local company, I was appalled at how disorganized and hard the job was.  No one seemed to be able to keep up with applicant paperwork or even interviews.  Within a week I talked the boss into installing software which would be our applicant tracking solution.  After that we had an essentially paperless application process and recruiting became as much fun as I had imagined.  Instead of spending my days working through mounds of paperwork, I take potential clients to lunch and store application date on my laptop, where it is always at my fingertips.
