Long distance movers are an invaluable resource!
March 10th, 2010 . by adminI must say, long distance movers were a huge help when I graduated from college and moved cross state! My father always insists on doing everything by himself, he is one of those wonderful, stubborn older men. This time I stuck to my point and basically forced him to get help from some long distance movers. He is too old to be taking on such large tasks, and I am very worried that he might hurt his back or worse. He called around for pricing from a few local long distance movers, and at first he was a little reluctant because he is what one might refer to as “frugal.” When I offered to hire long distance movers myself, he changed his tune almost instantly and demanded that I let him be the man and pay for the long distance movers to haul my stuff. He finally did find long distance movers who quoted him a satisfactory price, and we scheduled the big day. He was all over them, watching, supervising as if they were trying to dent, break or steal my stuff. I told him that he was being ridiculous, but it made him feel better, so he kept watch. I felt bad for the long distance movers having to put up with him, so once in a while I would whisper a sorry to one of them.
The long distance movers took great care of my stuff, they packed everything tightly into the truck so nothing would wiggle or fall. They wrapped furniture and delicates in thick pads and blankets, and they even cleaned up the messy footprints that they left on the floor. Best of all, they arrived at my new house exactly on time. Even my father had to admit that the long distance movers had done a great job
