This seems to be the time to work toward getting off the grid.  Even I can not get all the way off at least I can make the move to reduce the amount of electricity that I need to use from the fossil fuels generators.  I can still get a tax credit, prices have gone down and the panels are far superior to what they were ten years ago.  It looks like the best place for my solar panel installation is on my roof although I might be able to mount them on the slope below my home and have them closer to the batteries.
