We have a new accountant in the office and he seems to know nothing. Since he came he has been asking for directions about how to do every thing including the basic accounting functions. He does not even know how the microsoft excel spreadsheet works and this makes me wonder whether we should blame the schools or those who hire such people. I still do not understand how he landed the job but if he continues with this trend I do not see his future in this company being guaranteed. On the other hand, someone was suggesting that the most likely explanation to his behavior is that he is afraid to do anything on his own accord but he is well versed with how everything functions.
