For students who are wanting to be a certified or licensed medical assistant should opt for studying at accredited schools. It is very important that they should complete their degree from these approved schools as one of the requirements of taking the licensure examination. Accredited medical assistant schools can be found on the list held by two of the agencies that are authorized to accredit these schools. These two agencies are the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and the Accreditation Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Students can call any of these agencies and ask for some recommendations or a list of those accredited schools located in their state.
