In spring its slopes get carpeted with a variety of flowers such as daisies, rottenest, buttercups and blue bells inside the Buses from Kolhapur. The Mughal Emperor Jahangirs said to have once collected as many as 21 different varieties or with flowers at Gulmarg. This resort was once called Gauri margin honour of Gauri, Lord Shiva’s consort.
